Lenten Series: It Takes a Village – Building the next generation
Tuesdays in Lent from 5 to 6:30pm
We are always being asked to consider our actions in light of our responsibilities to the ‘next generation’. Whether we have children or not,
WE ALL SHARE IN BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION.
- February 28th: Jesus and Children. Why are we called the Children of God?
- March 6th: Raffi and Child Honouring. How do we treat Children?
- March 13th: Desmond Tutu and Children as Saints in Literature. Are children saints?
- March 20th: A brief History of Sunday School. Why do we offer School on Sundays?
- March 27th: Becoming the family of God. Is it possible for all generations to gather together?
We gather for a simple supper at 5pm. Childcare and children’s programming available.
Musings in the Morning
Wednesdays, 10am
We’re back! Join Musings every Wednesday morning at 10 am beginning again next Wednesday, September 14th with The Rev. Kelly Duncan. We’ll discuss sin this week, by request. What is it? How do we (not) do it? Subsequent Musings topics will be derived from the current events found in the weekend newspapers. Bring your thoughts, questions and comments. All are welcome!
Bookwise
4th Wednesday of the Month, 1pm
Our “spiritual book club”, BookWise, provides a monthly forum for conversation about a book of common interest. We will be resuming meetings – on the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 1:00-2:00pm in the lounge – in September. If you would like an opportunity to discuss books that shape or challenge or inform our views on Christian theology or the role of the church in society, come along and join us. We will be reading An Altar in the World by Barbara Brown Taylor for the meeting on September 28th. Everyone is welcome and we are open to any and all suggestions for reading. If you are interested, please contact Nichola Hall at 604-263-0247 (ranhall@telus.net.) or Isabel Wood, 604-263-7301 (iiwood@shaw.ca).
